Love Story of Prithviraj Chauhan and Queen Sanyogita

After the death of Prithviraj Chauhan’s maternal grandfather Anangpal (Maharaja of Delhi), Prithviraj Chauhan was placed on the throne of Delhi. Because King Anangpal had no son, Prithviraj Chauhan was declared the crown prince of Delhi. At that time, Kannauj was ruled by Maharaj Jayachandra. His daughter was Rani Sanyogita. King Jaichandra used to hate and envy Prithviraj Chauhan after seeing his valor and fame. Once a painter Pannaray came to Kannauj. He had pictures of the great mighty kings of the country. One of them was the picture of Maharaj Prithviraj Chauhan. When the girls of Kannauj saw that picture, she kept looking and started praising her beauty. This matter reached to Queen Sanyogita, then Queen Sanyogita went to see that picture with her friend. Seeing the picture of Prithviraj Chauhan, Queen Sanyogita kept looking at him, and she fell in love with him. There he gave his heart to Prithviraj Chauhan. But the union of the two was not easy. There was enmity between Prithviraj Chauhan and Jayachandra.
After reaching Delhi, the painter told Prithviraj Chauhan about Queen Sanyogita and also made a portrait of the queen. Prithviraj Chauhan also fell in love with Rani Sanyogita. After some time Maharaj Jayachandra kept Swayambar for Queen Sanyogita. Many kings were called, but due to enmity, King Prithviraj Chauhan was not invited. Jaichand made a statue (murti) of Prithviraj Chauhan to insult him and got it erected in place of the gatekeeper. When Queen Sanyogita came to Swayamvar with a garland, she did not see her love (Prithviraj Chauhan) anywhere. Then he saw the idol and went and put the idol on a garland and garlanded it. King Jaichand got angry and imprisoned his daughter Sanyogita in a palace on the banks of the Ganges. With the help of his friend, he conveyed this message to Prithviraj Chauhan through a Brahmin. Prithviraj Chauhan went to the palace and kidnapped Queen Sanyogita and brought her, and their marriage took place in Delhi according to Hindu customs.

Death of Prithviraj Chauhan

Prithviraj Chauhan was defeated by Muhammad in the last battle with Muhammad Ghori, as Maharaja Jayachandra befriended Muhammad Ghori to take revenge on Prithviraj Chauhan because of his hatred. Due to which both the army of Muhammad Ghori and the army of Jaichand became a very big army.
