Arun Khetrapal Birth, Family and Early Life

Arun Khetarpal was born on 14 October 1950 in Pune, Maharashtra. He had spent his life in many cities apart from Maharashtra since childhood, because his father was in the army, so he used to be transferred from place to place. Arun Khetarpal’s father’s name is Madanlal Khetarpal. His father Madanlal Khetrapal was serving in the Indian Army in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and then Brigadier. Madanlal Khetarpal was an officer of the Kaur of Engineers in the Indian Army. Arun Khetrapal’s mother’s name is Maheshwari Khetarpal, who was a dietician. Arun Khetarpal’s brother’s name is Mukesh Khetarpal. Arun Khetarpal’s grandfather was also in the army, his grandfather had fought as a soldier in the First World War from 1917 to 1919. Arun Khetarpal Army Career

The Indian Army career of Arun Khetarpal started in the year 1971. Arun Khetarpal started his military life on 13 June 1971. His military life was only 6 months. Arun Khetrapal was commissioned on 16 December 1971 during the Indo-Pakistani War of 17 Poona Horse under the command of 47th Infantry Brigade of the Indian Army. The 45th Brigade was stationed in the Shakargarh sector during the period of the conflict. In the military life of 6 months, he made a great sacrifice for the country and became immortal for the country.

In December 1971, war broke out between India and Pakistan. In this war, Arun Khetarpal was posted on the duty of commanding a squadron. In the war, Arun had destroyed many guns of Pakistan. Arun Khetarpal received a message from another squadron and went to Jarpal of Shakargarh with his group for help. He continued to destroy enemy tanks. During this, his tank came on the target of the enemies and his tank caught fire. But seeing the circumstances of the war, Arun Khetrapal did not back down and kept fighting with the enemies. During this, Arun Khetarpal was also injured. Still he was fighting the enemies. Arun Khetarpal’s tank was completely burnt in the fire and became completely useless. Due to this, Arun Khetarpal was also completely injured. Arun Khetrapal died during that time. He was martyred for the country, and India was victorious in this war. 

Arun Khetarpal Death 

Arun Khetarpal died on 16 December 1971 due to the Indo-Pakistani War  Was. The place of death was Barapind, Shakargarh Punjab. In this war, he did not give up on the Pakistan Army and kept fighting till his last breath. Arun Khetarpal was only 21 years old at the time of his death. He had spent only 6 months of his life in the army. After his death, Arun Khetarpal was awarded the Param Vir Chakra. Arun Khetarpal made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
