Major Mohit Sharma was born on 13 January 1979 in Rohtak, Haryana (India). Major Mohit Sharma’s early education took place at Manav Sthali School, South Extension, Delhi, but after a few days due to his father’s bank job, the whole family had to move to Ghaziabad, UP. After which Mohit Sharma was admitted to the holy angels school Sahibabad. After studying for a few years, in the year 1988, enrolled in Delhi Public School, Ghaziabad, from where he completed his studies till 12th. After completing his schooling, he did college from Sant Gajanan Maharaj College of Engineering, Shegaon, Maharashtra. Where after leaving engineering studies, passed the NDA exam in the year 1995.

Major Mohit Sharma’s career
Major Mohit Sharma’s military career started in the year 1998 from the National Defense Academy. He became the best cadet of his batch in NDA. After becoming the best cadet, there was also a champion of horse rider. He took his training from Colonel Dhabde ji. His true companion in horse riding became a horse named Indra. Apart from being a horse rider, he was also a good boxer and swimmer. In 1998, he passed the NDA exam and after that became a student of the Indian Military Academy (IMA). In the IMA, Mohit Sharma was given the rank of Battalion Cadet, and for this rank he got a chance to meet the President (K.R Narayan). In the year 1999, on 11 December, Major Mohit Sharma joined the 5th Battalion of the Madras Regiment of the Indian Army. Mohit Sharma’s first posting was in Hyderabad. From Hyderabad, Lieutenant Mohit Sharma joined the 38th Battalion of the Rashtriya Rifles as a part of the counter insurgency operation. Where Lt Mohit Sharma was awarded (1st Gallantry Award COASM Medal) for successful operation and excellent work. After being awarded this medal, on 1 June 2003, Mohit Sharma was elected to the Chief of Army Staff (Para SF) of the Indian Soldier. After the election, Major Mohit Sharma was posted (1 Para SF) to Kashmir. Where in the year of posting In 2004, he was awarded the Sena Medal. After the award, he was a trainer in the Commando’s Wing at Belgaum from 2005 January to 2006 December. After being a trainer in the commando wing for two years.
